Google Glasses

Clipped0 comments

Are we seeing the end of Smartphones? What?! ridiculous, I hear you cry…

Currently the glasses are designed to get a connection via your smartphone, although I can imagine when they could become independent. With voice recognition and better transcribing technology, perhaps this is the beginning of the end for keyboards… perhaps not!

Would you buy a pair?

HUD Google Glasses are Real and They are Coming Soon

They are in late prototype stages of wearable glasses that look similar to thick-rimmed glasses that “normal people” wear. However, these provide a display with a heads up computer interface. There are a few buttons on the arms of the glasses. It have a transparent LCD or AMOLED display. According to source, it communicates directly with the Cloud over IP. The “GG” could use a phone’s Internet connection, Wi-Fi or a Bluetooth 4.0. A user can walk around with information popping up and into display "Terminator-style" based on preferences, location ( GPS ) and Google’s information. GG looks something like Oakley Thumps( below)

Data Overload: Baloney Detection Kit (Video)

Clipped, Curation0 comments

Definitely a useful list of questions to apply when discovering new content, ideas, processes and although science is useful in many ways and helps us prove theories through controlled testing – not everything can be processed in that way – nor, in my opinion, should it be. #Balance

With a sea of information coming at us from all directions, how do we sift out the misinformation and bogus claims, and get to the truth? Inspired by Carl Sagan, Michael Shermer of Skeptic Magazine lays out a "Baloney Detection Kit," ten questions we should ask when encountering a claim.
The 10 Questions:
1. How reliable is the source of the claim?
2.Does the source make similar claims?
3. Have the claims been verified by somebody else?
4. Does this fit with the way the world works?
5. Has anyone tried to disprove the claim?
6. Where does the preponderance of evidence point?
7. Is the claimant playing by the rules of science?
8. Is the claimant providing positive evidence?
9. Does the new theory account for as many phenomena as the old theory?
10. Are personal beliefs driving the claim?

Some stories make you smile, this one made me cheer! Brilliant!

Reshared post from +Nikki Love

A 50- something year old white woman arrived at her seat on a crowded flight and immediately didn't want the seat. The seat was next to a black man. Disgusted, the woman immediately summoned the flight attendant and demanded a new seat. The woman said "I cannot sit here next to this black man." The fight attendant said "Let me see if I can find another seat." After checking, the flight attendant returned and stated "Ma'am, there are no more seats in economy, but I will check with the captain and see if there is something in first class." About 10 minutes went by and the flight attendant returned and stated "The captain has confirmed that there are no more seats in economy, but there is one in first class. It is our company policy to never move a person from economy to first class, but being that it would be some sort of scandal to force a person to sit next to an UNPLEASANT person, the captain agreed to make the switch to first class." Before the woman could say anything, the attendant gestured to the black man and said, "Therefore sir, if you would so kindly retrieve your personal items, we would like to move you to the comfort of first class as the captain doesn't want you to sit next to an unpleasant person." Passengers in the seats nearby began to applause while some gave a standing ovation.
If you are against racism, share this.

From the other social network but too good not to share!
