Craig’s Thoughts on Learning
From Anti-Social to Social, all in a day!
I was fortunate today to participate in one of Jane Harts Masterclasses entitled ‘The use of social media in Learning’, but before I get on to that I desperately need to ask the following question
Discussion took place around the 5 various types of learning that takes place within organisations
Jane posed a number of questions relating to our understanding and use of social learning platforms
It was then over to us to tweet our responses either within small groups or as individuals.

Creativity by Michael Mauer (Head of Porsche Design)
As the Head of the Porsche Design Department, Michael Mauer is in the envious position of holding the future of a hallowed marque in his hands. He leads the team responsible for the entire Porsche product line, including the new Panamera sedan and the upcoming redesigns of the Cayenne and 911. Every journey starts with one small step
Nice James! It is with great pleasure that I read your post, you build a story with seamless creative ease and I duely tip my hat for the writing skills you’ve aquired – first class mate!
With reference to the content of your article, your depicting a scenario that has been in perpetual motion for some time now – the rat race. Some beleive that it was part of an organised approach in order to control the thoughts, actions and movement of the masses, and of course to ensure maximum economic wealth for the top section of the pyramid. Add a touch of technology to the scenario and we are distracted even more so; work harder, faster, longer.
Consider if you will, a classroom environment and how the current flow of information goes from teacher to pupil, mostly one way. We are still living in a time where learning and education is being delivered from a vitorian based principle; though shall be seen an not heard, and, do as I say, not as I do. In the old’en days the world needed factory workers, people who would conform and follow instructions, education and learning was therefore built around this need. Today we’re still using the same system, although we realise that it is not fitting the requirements of this new culture too well.
Do we really have time for God (which ever form it takes for you)? Some cultures do, but it seems those focused on making money and gaining power don’t. The expression ‘you can’t take it with you’ seems to have been forgotten. By giving attention to something beyond ‘me, me, me’ we have a chance to regain control and understanding and redevelop an ethical and compassionate trait that can then be re-shared with those around us. Every journey starts with one small step, and the more that join this wave of thinking, the greater the overall pleasure will be for those like minds.
Got to get on now.
Catchya around
