How 150 Cents Changed Everything

How 150 Cents Changed Everything

Android, Curation, Knowledge Management, Mobile, QR Codes5 comments

For a number of years now I’ve been extensivly researching all things technology and learning. I began bookmarking posts and organising data using Delicious and Chrome via a manual export-import methodology. One of the problems I found was that I was not returning to Delcious very often, so although the list was increasing in size, it didn’t really serve it’s purpose of being accessible and useful. Homemade Apps Anyone?

Homemade Apps Anyone?

Android, Mobile, QR Codes1 comment

Today I created an Android App using http://eyemags.com.  The whole process was quite easy with an intuitive interface and simple to follow instructions. There is a free version which allows you to create up to 10 pages. Premium accounts and personalised coding can be ordered in addition. Continue Reading

Conversation, Like Minds2 comments

Discussing the different apps we all use… already chipped up about #amplify and the pending mobile version – there are 20 people in this room and nobody has heard of Amplify, including the guys presenting :o

The elements iPhone app should be very good…

Other apps to checkout, Pulse and Instapaper…

Second Life Media & Amplify…

Collaboration, Education, Second Life, Technology7 comments

Having been inspired yesterday by Philip Linden’s keynote speech I decided that I would return to SL. The new browser has been updated and is now version 2.1, which can been downloaded on starting up SL.

Instead of interacting with Amplify on the web, I’ve spent the past hour or so interacting with the community from inside SL. Why? Presently I’m on my own (your welcome to drop by if you like SL name: Pauli Chatterbox) but I’m imagining if I had a group of trainees here interested in learning about Amplify or any other online software…

The possibilities are endless for training and education – everyone can have their own rich media panel, you can talk with each other, and as the instructor, tasks can be given as you walk (or fly) between panels to support as necessary.

Perhaps your thinking it’s a bit geeky, but let me remind you that if I had a group of 7 people here, each from a different continent, your looking at one of the most amazing ways to collaborate in real time, with engagement, for FREE!

Anyway, just thought I’d share that with you; now back to my newsfeed… ;-)

Chrome Extensions

Google8 comments

It seems the list of available extensions grows on a daily basis. I’ve stopped looking for now as my browser bar is running out space.

As a beta project, extensions come with a few caveats from Google. For the moment, Google is only supporting extensions in its latest beta version of Chrome, so if you prefer the official, stable browser, you’ll have to forgo add-on tools for now. Interestingly, the version of Chrome that supports extensions, dubbed “the Beta Channel” version, is only available on XP and Vista, not Windows 7, though Google has promised that extensions will soon be available for Google’s new Mac version of Chrome, too.
